TORONTO, September 18, 2012 - Mon Sheong Telethon 2012, broadcasted on Fairchild TV last Sunday, succeeded in gaining nationwide support and raising a record high of $180,000. Mon Sheong Foundation thanked all sponsors, donors and supporters for their unfailing support.
Mr. Tim Kwan, Chairman & President of Mon Sheong Foundation, said, “Mon Sheong Foundation has introduced a number of services over the years to meet the needs of the community. Since 2009, we have been running the Adult Day Program without government funding, so as to delay the seniors’ need for admission to long-term care centres. We also developed the Scarborough Mon Sheong Court life lease facility for mobile seniors, and both Richmond Hill and Markham Mon Sheong Court projects are now underway.”
Mon Sheong Telethon 2012 showcased resident stories and the dedicated care services of Mon Sheong Foundation Long-Term Care Centres. The program has enabled the public to learn more about Mon Sheong’s efforts in different service areas. As evidenced by the results of Telethon 2012, individuals and the business community continue to support Mon Sheong generously despite all global economic challenges. Mon Sheong Foundation was grateful to all donors, sponsors and organizations for their support to Mon Sheong Telethon 2012. Mrs. Stephanie Wong, Chair of Mon Sheong Telethon 2012 Task Force, added, “Fervent supporters of Mon Sheong have been making donations prior to the event. Some of these supporters live in Scarborough Mon Sheong Court, and they want to make donations to show their appreciation of Mon Sheong’s quality services. During the event, thousands of phone-in donations were received, and some of them even came from non-GTA areas, such as Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton.” She also thanked the MCs, TV crew members, Mon Sheong volunteers and staff for their time and effort to make this year’s Telethon another success.
