Conversational Putonghua Program

The following courses are offered:
Basic Level:
• Student must have Chinese proficiency of Level 9 or above unless approved by School authorities
• For beginners who have not learned the Putonghua language before or have only limited experience of the language
• Employ "pinyin" phonetic system
• Use simplified Chinese characters

Intermediate Level:
• Student must have Chinese proficiency of Level 9 or above unless approved by School authorities
• For those who have learned the Putonghua before or have experience of the language
• Employ "pinyin" phonetic system
• Use simplified Chinese characters

Putonghua for English Speakers:
• For non-Chinese speakers who have no or very limited experience of the Chinese language
• Classes are conducted in English
• Emphasis on conversation
• Employ "pinyin" phonetic system
• Supplemented by simple simplified Chinese characters
