Announces the

2013 Silver Jubilee Awards of Excellence for Secondary School Graduates

The Mon Sheong Foundation was established as Ontario's first Chinese Canadian charitable organization. In 1989, to commemorate its 25^th anniversary, the Foundation established the Silver Jubilee Awards of Excellence. The Awards are presented annually to Ontario secondary school graduates who meet eligibility requirements and demonstrate outstanding achievement in several domains which reflect well-roundedness and strength of personal character. Applications are reviewed by the Awards Committee.

Eligibility:

The Silver Jubilee Awards of Excellence are open to all secondary school students, regardless of sex, religious belief and ethnic background, who:

• Qualify for university admission in September 2013
• Are nominated by their school Principal
• Reside in the City of Toronto, or the Regions of Durham, York, Peel, and Halton

NOTE: Each school may submit a maximum of TWO nominations.

Selection Criteria:

Nominees will be evaluated and considered for the Awards based on the following criteria:

• Academic Standing
• Voluntary Community Involvement
• Leadership
• Sportsmanship
• Other Commendable Traits and Talents

Award Structure: (A total of 10 Awards)

Award recipients will be invited to attend 2013 Silver Jubilee Awards of Excellence Award Presentation in mid of August 2013. Award recipients will also receive a commemorative plaque in honour of his or her achievement.
