Position Summary:
Reporting to the Associate Director of Development, the Project Officer is responsible for the development and implementation of a collective impact project initiated by Mon Sheong Foundation. The incumbent will work with the Development and Communications team to meet funding deliverables and outcomes as set by funder. This contract will end on August 2024.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Objective
- Working with collaborating organizations, consultants, research partners, vendors, and service providers to make communication easy and transparent regarding project issues and decisions on services.
- Monitoring and tracking progress of various project activities to make sure that all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and reporting schedules.
- Work with collaborating organizations to ensure that project services are up-to-date, innovative and meet the needs of the clients and project outcomes, including monitoring of data quality, data integrity and performance outcomes as per funder expectations.
- Maintaining comprehensive project documentation and preparing quarterly reports to funder including evaluation and activity outcomes.
- Create, update and maintain the project website and online information including social media.
Financial Objectives
- Coordinating with collaborating organizations on resources allocation and other documents as needed to enable successful project partnership.
- Coordinating expense reimbursements and preparing financial reports.
- Meeting budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis.
- Facilitating change requests to ensure that all parties are informed of the impact on schedule and budget.
Project Development
- Organize, develop and facilitate roundtable meetings with collaborating organizations quarterly.
- Participate in symposiums organized by the Government of Canada.
- Developing an evaluation method to assess project strengths and measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Contributing information to collective impact plan, evaluation plan and sustainability plan.
- Acting as a liaison to facilitate understanding between the organization, project team and the community.
- Performing other duties as assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Social Services, Business Management or related field.
- Minimum 3 years related experience including project management and community program development for non-profit organizations (collective impact project experience an asset).
- Experience with program budgets, project expenses and funding reporting.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects.
- Ability to create a sense of community and shared direction amongst a diverse project team and see them through to completion.
- Ability to work with little supervision and work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams.
- Troubleshooting ability as it relates to computers, video-conferencing equipment, and other office equipment.
- Strong level of computer proficiency; including MS Office, internet and virtual conference platform.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with ability to communicate in Chinese an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
