Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Resident Care, the incumbent is responsible for assisting with daily administrative duties and coordinating meeting schedules amongst residents, family members, and nursing staffs.

Main Duties:

  • Maintain the nursing database, residents’ database and other documentation;
  • Update residents’ information and photo identification;
  • Attend nursing department meetings;
  • Receive and organize nursing supplies and equipment in storage rooms;
  • Create a new inventory plan for the department;
  • Assist the Director of Resident Care in purchasing and distributing all nursing supplies;
  • Coordinate meeting schedules for residents, family members, and nursing staffs.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Science, Health Science, or equivalent program in a recognized University/College;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • Experience working with seniors an asset;
  • Bilingual in English and Chinese is preferred.

Other Requirements:

All summer student positions are funded to promote employment opportunities for students, thus the duration of these positions are subject to funding approval. To be eligible for the program, job applicants should meet the following criteria:

  3. Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of the employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant or territorial legislation and regulations.
