The Co-ordinator, Community Centre in CVS is responsible for assisting with the development of community volunteer programs, establishing connection and partnership with local communities, and providing support and guidance to youth during program delivery.

Main Duties:

  • Create a program or recreational course for senior members with learning materials included;
  • Organize electronic database and paper documents;
  • Design various small group activities for seniors;
  • Communicate and establish relationships with neighboring communities;
  • Develop a recruitment plan in Community Volunteer Services;
  • Any other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary program in Marketing and Communication, Community Development, Education, Volunteer Management or related fields in a recognized University/College;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Highly detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy;
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Word, Excel, and Outlook;
  • Bilingual in English and Chinese is preferred.

Other Requirements:

All summer student positions are funded to promote employment opportunities for students, thus the duration of these positions are subject to funding approval. To be eligible for the program, job applicants should meet the following criteria:

  1. Is between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
  2. Is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act* and;
  3. Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of the employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant or territorial legislation and regulations.
