Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Administrator or Assistant Administrator, the Support Services Team Lead is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the Environmental Services,   keeping a safe, clean, secure and well-maintained home environment for Residents, Family Members, Visitors and Staff, in compliance with relevant legislations, standards and guidelines as reflected in the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021.

 

Main Duties:

  • Monitor and evaluate that Environmental Services meets the Program and Services goals and objectives.
  • Provide advice on and interpretation to policies, procedures or relevant legislations.
  • Work with the Administrator to evaluate the efficiency of Environmental Services. Work with the Administrator to evaluate the existing Service Provider, provide feedback and recommend improvements within a certain period.
  • Develop and implement relevant policies and procedures, and an audit process measuring the quality improvement and risk management of services.
  • Participate in the Health and Safety, Emergency Plan and Fire Prevention Programs.
  • Purchase or replace supplies and equipment under Mon Sheong’s inventory list as required.
  • Ensure adherence to proper Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) protocol and practices; including, but not limited to, process of cleaning, handling laundry and linens (especially during an outbreak or Resident with communicable disease), the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), hand hygiene and etc.
  • Monitor and evaluate that Environmental Services meets the Program and Services goals and objectives
  • Planning coordinating, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of all operational activities within the housekeeping, laundry and maintenance departments.
  • Ensure that compliance is met with applicable legislation, inspections and investigations in regards to housekeeping and laundry.
  • Collaborate with service providers in regards to budgets, purchases or replace supplies and equipment approved under Mon Sheong inventory list
  • Participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee, Emergency Plan and Fire Prevention Programs.
  • Knowledge of Fixing Long Term Care Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and other standards and regulations pertinent Federal, provincial and municipal statues which influence the operation of the Long Term Care.
  • Ensure adherence to proper Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) protocol and practices; including, but not limited to, process of cleaning, handling laundry and linens (especially during an outbreak or Resident with communicable disease), the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), hand hygiene and etc.
  • Monitor employee productivity and implement processes for increased service or productivity

 

 

Others:  To undertake any other duties as assigned by the Administrator.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma
  • Knowledge of evidence-based or prevailing practices relating to housekeeping, laundry, waste management and maintenance
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity
  • Has experience with Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) protocol relevant to Environmental Services
  • Experience in working with Service Providers is an asset
