May 14, 2017—Mon Sheong Foundation hosted its 31st annual Fun Run & Walk today at the Richmond Green Sports Centre & Park. Around 800 people showed up early in the morning to enthusiastically support Mon Sheong’s work in the community. As with past years, this year’s event featured a competitive 5K run, a family-friendly 5K walk for all ages and pets, and a lively three-legged race for participants up to the task. New elements included indoor carnival refreshments and activity stations as well as the highly anticipated Celebrity Wheelchair Challenge, combining to provide an unforgettable day for everyone in attendance. All proceeds from the event will go toward improving and expanding Mon Sheong’s charitable initiatives.
The family-friendly environment allowed family and friends to socialize while celebrating moms for their hard work and raising money for a tremendous cause. Participants were treated to a wide range of complimentary snacks and service booths, including popcorn, cotton candy, Hong Kong style milk tea, Starbucks coffee, and baked goods by COBS Bread. A makeup and face painting station entertained children and adults alike while participants were able to enjoy a relaxing massage session after finishing the 5K course. All participants also received a commemorative T-shirt, plantable wristband, and gift bag filled with goodies and surprises.
