Toronto, ON, March 7, 2018 – Seniors are an important part of our community. Mon Sheong Foundation invites seniors and their families to celebrate their accomplishments at “Mon Sheong Golden Seniors Celebration”. The event will take place on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Markham Event Centre (MEC). Mon Sheong is expecting over 800 guests, with generous individual and corporate donors donating over 100 free tickets for seniors over the age of 75.

Mon Sheong Foundation’s President, Mrs. Doris Chan, said, “’Mon Sheong Golden Seniors Celebration’ is a representation of our motto, ‘Caring for the Elderly and Nurturing the Young’. Over 80 volunteers, including members from our Youth Group, will be on hand to take care of our guests. This is an excellent opportunity for our youths to show their appreciation, fondness and respect for our seniors. It is heart-warming to see youths carry out the Chinese custom of taking care of our seniors against Canada’s multicultural landscape.”

To make this event even more meaningful, Mon Sheong Foundation Chinese School students specially made wonderful greetings for our seniors, wishing them health and longevity. Chinese watercolour paintings, done by the students at Scarborough Mon Sheong Community and Volunteer Services art class, will be featured in our program book. In addition, three Culinary Professors from George Brown College, including Professor Chef Leo Chan, will be contributing recipes to our program book this year.
