Position Summary:

Reporting to the Support Services Supervisor at Mon Sheong Richmond Hill Long-Term Care Centre, the incumbent must maintain a comfortable, safe, and aesthetic environment for the residents, staff and visitors.  All work will be carried out in accordance with health and safety guidelines and procedures to ensure the safety of residents and workers.

Main Duties:

  • General cleaning of offices and all public area washrooms.
  • Window scrubbing in the lobby per assigned schedule.
  • Responsible for daily lobby floor tile scrubbing.
  • Dust all furniture in the lobby and ground floor.
  • Clean up staff /volunteer lockers and rest rooms.
  • Provide safe transport of soiled linens and residents’ dirty laundry
  • Receiving inventory and delivering to relevant store rooms.
  • Wax floor-polishing for all facility rooms /resident rooms in the entire Home per assigned schedule.
  • Carpet shampooing for all corridors and foyer of each floor and offices per assigned schedule.
  • Provide assistance for setup and clean up in special events or functions.
  • Clean and shampoo upholstered furniture per assigned schedule.
  • Snow shuffling of the gardens during winter times when necessary.
  • Cleaning wheelchair per assigned schedule.
  • Cleaning fabric chairs in dinning and resident rooms per assigned schedule.
  • Monitoring the supplies store condition and report shortage of stock.
  • Responding and assisting resident internal transfer in regard to moving rooms.
  • Understand and practice infection control technique.
  • Provide the prevention and control of the transmission of infection control.
  • Responsible for the safe, proper and efficient operation of all cleaning equipment.
  • Understand and obey all fire and safety regulations.
  • Follow procedure for the cleaning and care of equipment as well as the measurement and proper use of supplies.
  • Follow guidelines for job and task performance requirement.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent;
  • Enjoy working with the elderly;
  • Bilingual in Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) is a definite asset.
