Chinese Ambassador’s visit to Chinese School (Jan 30, 2026)
In January, we welcomed His Excellency Wang Di, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Canada, alongside Mr. Luo Weidong, the Chinese Consul General in Toronto, for a special visit to the North York Campus of Mon Sheong Foundation Chinese School. The delegation engaged in active dialogues with teachers and students, viewed student’s work and enjoyed spectacular Lunar New Year-themed performances by our students.

MonSee Lunar New Year Fair (Feb 14, 2026)
On February 14, 26 members of our Youth Empowerment Leadership Program brought to life a vibrant celebration of the Year of the Horse and Valentines’ Day through the MonSee Lunar New Year Fair. This 100% youth-powered event was entirely planned and executed by these young leaders. The Fair featured 25 standout vendors, a lion dance, music performances and magic shows, and an exciting lucky draw.

Mon Sheong Court Mahjong Competition (Feb 20, 2026)
On the fourth day of the Lunar New Year—finalists Mon Sheong Courts’ joint Mahjong competition gathered for an exhilarating showdown of Mahjong mastery. After several rounds of nail-biting competition, Josephine Chung from Scarborough Mon Sheong Court was crowned the champion.

Mayors’ Visits to Mon Sheong Court (Feb 23-25, 2026)
In late February, mayors of Markham, Richmond Hill and Toronto visited our Mon Sheong Courts to share warm Lunar New Year wishes to our senior residents.

Mon Sheong Radiothon (Mar 12, 2026)
Mon Sheong Radiothon 2026 was held in March, raising over $270,000. Mon Sheong staff, care home residents, and their families took to the airwaves to share heart-warming stories, inspiring hundreds of generous donors to support our mission of building new long-term care centres.

Grand Opening of Dr. Paul Woo Long-Term Care Centre (Mar 12, 2026)
In March, The Honourable Natalia Kusendova-Bashta, Minister of Long-Term Care, officiated the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony of Mon Sheong Dr. Paul Woo Long-Term Care Centre. This care home is Mon Sheong’s second facility in Whitchurch-Stouffville, creating over 300 job opportunities in the community.

Volunteer Appreciation Dinner (April 18, 2026)
In April, we hosted a Volunteer Appreciation Dinner attended by over 170 volunteers. The Service Award presentation recognized volunteers with over 100 hours of service in 2024, with the highest-performing volunteer accumulating 1,300 hours.

Asian Heritage Month – Consul General Visit (May 7, 2026)
In May, Mon Sheong Richmond Hill Senior Care Campus welcomed Consul General Luo Weidong of the People’s Republic of China in Toronto for a special celebration of Asian Heritage Month. The Consulate General presented a series of vibrant cultural performances for our residents, beautifully showcasing the vast wealth of Chinese heritage.

National Nursing Week
During the National Nursing Week (May 11-17), our long-term care centres came together to honour the incredible nursing teams who pour their hearts into caring for our residents every day. Our teams enjoyed a week of well-deserved fun—including special lunches, treats, and games—to celebrate their hard work and bolster team spirit.

Cantonese Opera Charity Concert
In May, the Cantonese Opera Karaoke Group of the Mon Sheong Community & Volunteer Services Centre (Scarborough) hosted a compelling charity concert. Eight teams of 16 passionate participants lifted their voices for our community. They sang their hearts out and raised over $10,000. Proceeds directly support the vital work of our Community & Volunteer Services Centres.

Mon Sheong Court Great Voice – Karaoke 2026 (May 29, 2026)
Mon Sheong Court Great Voice – Karaoke 2026 brought together over 180 residents for an exhilarating showdown of musical talent. A star-studded judging panel had the tough but delightful task of narrowing down rounds of friendly competition to crown the ultimate champion. The energy in the room was absolutely electric, filled with laughter, cheers, and pure joy.

Chinese School Cultural Fun Day (late May, 2026)
In late May, Mon Sheong Foundation Chinese School hosted a Cultural Fun Day across its three campuses. Themed “Ancient Chinese Sports”, the event was a day for students and parents to get active and try their hands at traditional Chinese sports, including shuttlecock kicking (Jianzi), ancient soccer (Cuju), Chinese Bowling (Mushe), and dragon boating. It was a fantastic, hands-on opportunity for everyone to deepen their understanding of these traditions.

Mon Sheong Walk & Fun (June 6, 2026)
Over 900 participants joined Walk & Fun in June to support our building of long-term care centres. Following a scenic 3-km charity walk, the community gathered for a lively, free fun fair packed with exciting game booths, delicious treats, and breathtaking performances. The event raised over $270,000.

Mon Sheong Dragon Boat Team (June 13)
Red Pandas and Bulldogs from Mon Sheong Youth Group achieved incredible results at the Toronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival in June. Both squads clinched silver medals in the 500m Mixed Division Finals, showcasing the determination, resilience, and perseverance of our youth.
