Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Chinese School, the incumbent is responsible for providing administrative support to the Chinese School.

 

Main Duties:

  • Work closely with Administrative Officer, Principals and Teachers to facilitate all aspects of Chinese School operations, programs and activities;
  • Prepare teaching materials and provide copies for teachers and students as required;
  • Collect and review all student applications, input information and maintain up-to-date the database;
  • Provide customer service and handle incoming inquiries in relation to Chinese School;
  • Liaise with parents, students and teachers on all matters of Mon Sheong Chinese School campuses;
  • Keep inventory of supplies and equipment of the department;
  • Assist in planning, logistics and execution of departmental initiatives;
  • Perform other administrative duties for Chinese Schools as required;

 

Qualifications:

  • Secondary education in progress;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • Highly detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Strong time management, multi-tasking, and organizational abilities;
  • Bilingual in English and Chinese, both oral and written.

 

Other Requirements:

All summer student positions are funded to promote employment opportunities for students. The position and duration of it are based on funding approval. To be eligible for the program, job applicants should meet the following criteria:

  1. Is between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
  2. Is a student in a secondary, post-secondary, CEGEP (Quebec only), vocational or technical program;
  3. Is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act* and;
  4. Is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.
