Reporting to the Corporate Accountant /Financial Controller, the incumbent will work with the colleagues in Finance Department supporting both core accounting tasks and projects such as planning the schedule of month end activities / developing documentation of the procedures meeting the task objective and requirement for training purpose. This internship will provide the candidate the opportunities to utilize and apply technology in finance workplace practically and effectively. The student will conduct some research and provide recommendations on improving report preparation where applicable.
Main Duties:
– Assist to develop a schedule of month end activities in the Finance Department
– Interview with staff to understand and document the procedures and make recommendations
– Coordinate with staff to understand the schedule of deliverables
– Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting as required
– Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:
– University or college student currently enrolled in business or accounting program
– Prior related co-op or working experience in Accounting would be an asset especially with a long-term care background
– Intermediate to advance level skills in Microsoft Excel is required
– Good communication
– Self-starter with the ability to work effectively under multiple assignments in an organized manner
– Ability to interface and work cooperatively across the organization

Other Requirements:
All summer student positions are funded to promote employment opportunities for students. The position and duration of it are based on funding approval. To be eligible for the program, job applicants should meet the following criteria:
