December 4, 2016—The Mon Sheong Home for the Aged welcomed 250 seniors, each aged 65 or older, this afternoon for a festive celebration at the 45th annual Community Christmas Party for Seniors.

The afternoon not only featured a complimentary turkey feast, but also an exciting program of performances and activities. Local artist Jonas M. was invited to sing a number of Christmas carols and distribute gifts that he prepared for the participants. Last year Jonas had performed at the Markham Pan Am Centre and Taste of Asia Festival. In addition, an enthusiastic team of volunteers entertained the seniors with song and dance. As the party reached its conclusion, each participant had their hands full of gifts and could be seen with bright smiles on their faces.

We especially appreciate the Youth Group and other volunteers coming together to celebrate with the elderly. A huge thank you also goes to the Mon Sheong Foundation Chinese School students and parents for their unwavering support of this event. Every year they are pleased to donate gifts for the party and some were even on hand to personally deliver them to the seniors.
