The Need is Urgent

Mon Sheong has been dedicated to caring for the elderly for more than 55 years, which has won the trust of our residents, their families and the community.

  • Founded in 1964, Mon Sheong has demonstrated decades of excellence and has received accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)
  • Appropriate dietary services and recreational activities
  • Resident centric round-the-clock care

Our efforts are on-going but now, demand for long-term care service is surging as our population is aging.

Across the GTA, the senior adult population has been growing faster than any other age group. The number of seniors aged 65 and above in the GTA, between 2020 and 2029, is projected to increase from about 1.1 million to about 1.5 million.

There are over 7,000 people on the waitlist for Mon Sheong long-term care homes and the average waiting time is 5-7 years. In some cases, it can be up to 12 years.

To help seniors in the waiting line, Mon Sheong is building a new long-term care centre in Stouffville. We are working with and for the community, and generous support from people like you is essential to build this home with quality services, 24-hour care, joy and dignity they deserve. The need is urgent. Together, we need to raise $30 million.
