Position Summary

Report to the Support Service Supervisor to maintain a safe, aesthetic comfortable and beautiful environment for the residents, staff and visitors.  All work will be carried out in a safe and proper manner and precautions will be taken to ensure resident safety when performing duties.

Main Duties

  • General cleaning of offices and washrooms on ground floor and basement.
  • Daily windows scrubbing in the lobby per assigned schedule.
  • Responsible for daily lobby floor tile scrubbing.
  • Dust lobby furniture.
  • Clean staff’s lockers, washrooms, volunteer and staffs’ lounges.
  • Receive inventory and deliver to the designated storage areas.
  • Garbage handling – perform three times a week; collect garbage and take out to the outside bin; take out recycled items to the outside bin once a week; and clean up garbage room and as required
  • Wax floor-polishing for the dining, therapy, activity, and examination rooms of each unit, and the public area on ground floor per assigned schedule.
  • Wax floor-polishing for Resident Room per assigned schedule.
  • Carpet shampooing for corridors and foyer of each floor and office.
  • Provide assistance for set-up and clean-up in special events or functions.
  • Clean and shampoo upholstered furniture per assigned schedule.
  • Snow shuffling of the gardens during winter times when necessary.
  • Clean, sweep and mop staircases per assigned schedule.
  • Carpet vacuuming for Resident Room, corridor, and office per assigned schedule.
  • Clean wheelchair per assigned schedule.
  • Monitor the supplies stock condition and report shortage of stock.
  • Clean and sweep outside parking lots when necessary.
  • Deep cleaning for all public washrooms and facility rooms per assigned schedule.
  • Responsible for the store room cleaning and inventory storage arrangement.
  • Deep cleaning for all cleaning equipment per assigned schedule.

 

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Must be mature.
  • Must have an aptitude for working with the elderly.
  • Must be trainable on the job orientation
  • Able to understand and work with cleaning devices.
  • Bilingual in Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) is a definite asset
